United Way of Berks County would like to recognize the individuals and teams who work so diligently to make Berks County a better place; those who best exemplify what it means to Live United.

We welcome you to use this program to show special appreciation to individuals and groups who go above and beyond to lend their time or talents to help others. If you know someone who has organized a collection for one our agency partners, let us know the details and take pictures showing the end-result of the effort. If someone you know delivers Meals on Wheels, or serves as a mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, tell us more!

Unsure of who deserves to be featured? Consider those who, through their involvement, inspire others to get involved and make a difference in the lives of others. Individuals and/or groups may best exemplify one of these qualities outlined:

• Leadership - motivates and inspires others to accomplish a specific goal or objective. This may involve an element of risk in order to benefit others.
• Volunteerism - Accomplishes much within the community by his or her pursuit, courage, enthusiasm, and zeal.
• Initiative – Demonstrates ability to take charge by creating or developing a program, project, or activity that impacts the community. Has a personal commitment to see the project through to its resolution with determined effort.
• Creativity – Develops/proposes creative ways to accomplish the goals and objectives of a project, answer a challenge, or solve a problem.
• Community Impact - How has this individual’s commitment/work had a positive impact on community? When? What were the results? How many were impacted?
