How does your gift to United Way change lives?
YOUR GIFT MEETS CRITICAL NEEDS
United Way of Berks County works with 35 Agency Partners to provide more than 80 programs and services to individuals of all ages, from all areas of the county. When you give to United Way, your dollars are invested in these programs, meeting critical needs in the areas of Education, Health, Financial Stability and Safety Net Services.
YOUR GIFT HELPS KIDS COPE WITH THE IMPACT OF COVID
Through United Way’s COVID-19 Education Response Grants, 26 elementary schools within 12 local school districts received grants to help teachers, students and families reconnect during the pandemic. The grants support programs like developing digital learning strategies, training teachers in virtual learning, creating trauma sensitive classrooms and funding supplemental literacy programs to help boost academic success.
Your Gift Helps in a Crisis
When the COVID-19 pandemic caused a crisis in our community, United Way quickly established a pool of grant funds to meet a variety of critical needs, including emergency food, housing, shelter, protective equipment, emergency childcare for essential workers and virtual services. Forty-five grants were awarded to 39 local organizations helping 290,000 Berks Countians.
