For Natasha, her passion for giving back comes from personal experience, and a desire to strengthen the community around her. Natasha works at Alcon Research and has been actively involved with ELU for the past three years, participating in volunteer opportunities and serving on the ELU Cabinet.
Natasha’s journey with United Way of Berks County began at Alcon, when she was invited to serve as a Loaned Campaign Specialist (LCS) for the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. That experience opened her eyes to the impact of United Way’s work and inspired her to become more involved in supporting local organizations. “Assisting with the campaigns taught me so much about [United Way] and inspired me to help out as much as possible.”
As an ELU Cabinet member, Natasha says the organization’s volunteer opportunities have helped her grow as a community leader. Through ELU, she has built meaningful connections with others who share a commitment to service. She’s found new ways to make a difference in Berks County!
For ELU members looking to deepen their community involvement, Natasha encourages taking that first step by attending events and connecting with people who are already engaged. “Start by attending events, either through ELU or directly with organizations that interest you, and talk with people who can answer your questions,” she advises.
Community involvement is especially meaningful to Natasha because of her own family’s experience. Growing up, her family received support during challenging times, and witnessing the generosity of others left a lasting impact. Today, she is committed to paying that kindness forward by ensuring others have the support they need when facing obstacles of their own.
We’re grateful for Natasha’s dedication to service and the positive impact she continues to make through ELU and throughout our community! If you see Natasha at the next ELU event, don’t be afraid to say hi!
