Day of Caring: Berks County’s Largest Volunteer Event
In a single day, you can make a difference that will change lives in Berks.
Day of Caring is an annual community-wide volunteer event taking place on September 16th, 2026 at various local nonprofits and other locations throughout Berks and Reading. It brings together large and small groups, along with individuals, to create lasting change in our community by helping others.
Whether you are interested in working with an organization’s clients, doing hands-on work like maintenance, gardening or painting, or sorting items to help people in need, there is a project for you!

HOW TO PREP?
- Connect with your agency coordinator for proper attire requirements and parking.
- Bring water and stay hydrated.
- Take pictures and have fun!
Can’t Volunteer on Site?
Consider an in-house volunteer project, such as no-sew blankets or preparing special kits for an agency. We have a kit list for personal care products, school supplies, cleaning products, baby items, literacy, seniors, and social emotional kits for children. There are many agencies that would benefit!
