Star Readers Tutoring

Help Kids Become Better Readers

Volunteers make a difference in the lives of thousands of children through Ready.Set.READ! From office work to tutoring, we have opportunities available to meet your interests and time commitments.

To get started, fill out the Volunteer Form and a member of our team will contact you. You must be 18 years or older to apply.

Clearances

Child abuse clearances and criminal history checks are required to work with the children in our programs. To learn how to obtain your documentation, visit our Volunteer Clearances page for instructions and information.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Star Readers Tutors

Tutors are needed to help first and second grade students throughout Berks County improve their reading skills. Star Readers is currently in 12 school districts.

Read Alliance

High school students in the Reading and Governor Mifflin School Districts are needed to tutor elementary school students. Student tutors receive a stipend and valuable work experience.
